I went to Empire Beauty School Harrisburg, Pa in September 1977 I finished my 1250 hours (Pa State Requirements) in 9 months. I took my State Boards in July 1978 and was licensed October 17, 1978. (41 years experience) After 2 years of working I went back to Pa State Board again and tested for my Manager’s License. (No longer available) I passed with flying colors. I continued to work throughout the years at different salons & studios. I also had other jobs. (bartender, car sales, beauty supplies, finance & banking, I dabbled in quite a few trades…but, doing hair was always my gift) In 2004, I tore my rotator cuff. I have had 4 surgeries to repair the damage. This put me out of commission for quite a while. During the time of mending my shoulder, I still wanted to keep up with the trends and styles of Hair. So, I watched many, many videos and podcasts to keep me informed of what was happening in the Biz. Then in 2014, I moved to Montana and lived there for 4 years. While there, I obtained my Cosmetology License in the State of Montana, just in case I decided to make Montana my permanent home. So, that makes me a dual licensed Cosmetologist in 2 States. Well, I am back in Pennsylvania and I am starting my own hair salon. That way, I can work on my schedule, since I still have trouble with my right shoulder. I work when my shoulder feels good. With all my years of experience and talent, I can pretty much do any style. My services will include: Cuts, Blow Outs, Color, Highlights, Perms & More. (My Forte’ is Haircutting)
My salon’s named “Karma” Styling Studio. We know, ALL Hairstyles come back around, & around again.
” what comes around goes around”
Hope to see you at “Karma” for a new do.
