Antique Machinery Show Begins Today: Sept. 5,6,7,8

The Antique Machinery Show is the last kiss of summer: the last tractor pulls, the last funnel cake, the last flea market. Head over to the Penns Cave grounds and discover all that’s going on during the Fall Show.

My favorite part of the whole shebang are the rows and rows of flea market vendors. I have found some of my favorite home decorations at the Nittany Antique Machinery Show… all for a few crumpled dollars that I dug out of my pocket. While the tractors putt-putt in the distance, I like to mosey up and down the vendor aisles, looking for a treasure. I always find one (or five). For example:

(Lovin’ these shoe-forms made in Dublin. I wanted to buy the whole lot of them, but I wasn’t sure if I could find a place for 75 shoe forms, let alone pay for them. Seven did the trick. If I remember correctly, they were $1 each.)

If treasure hunts aren’t your thing, you might enjoy the antique steam engines that puff along all weekend, the square dancing, or the live music. Don’t forget, there’s sure to be a funnel cake stand and some good ice cream!

If you’ve never ventured over to Penns Cave for this bi-annual event, this might be the year to check it out. There are two shows each year – one in the spring and one in the fall. This Fall Show does charge admission because it’s HUGE. The $5 at the door will be a worthwhile investment (kids are free!).

I’ve just gotta share one more treasure I found for pennies

These quaint metal figurines are really…

…PENCIL SHARPENERS. Tell me, where else can you find such treasures?? It’s all at the Nittany Antique Machinery Show, folks. You’ll love it: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, dawn to dusk. Look for the Penns Cave signs on Route 192.

Enjoy your home,

Enjoy your home,
