Happy Fall Y’all! This is one of the most beautiful seasons in the Valley and we want you to enjoy every minute of it. This week, we’ll be sharing one idea each day with lots of great give-aways to celebrate!
The (un)Official Penns Valley Fall Bucket List
#1. Go to the Penns Valley Homecoming Parade and Game! (Be sure to enter the Football Package Give-away)
#2: Make your home cozy inside! (Be sure to enter the Good Scents Give-away)
#3. Go to “The Farmer’s Wife is Bringing in the Harvest”!
‘Tis the season for Penns Valley to bring in the harvest! To celebrate, be sure to add this family-friendly event to your weekend plans.
“The Farmer’s Wife is Bringing in the Harvest” is an annual event organized and offered by a local farming family. We’ve gone several times and have really enjoyed ourselves. I like to bring the kids during the day on Friday to avoid the crowds; it’s the best way to assure a great seat in the kiddie corn bin. 🙂
When you go, you’ll meet a variety of farm animals at the petting zoo. Visit a pumpkin shack, make your own scarecrow, paint a pumpkin, play in the corn bin (always a favorite spot for our kids). Buy your pumpkins, gourds, squash, Indian corn, apples and mums. Enjoy homemade jams, cookies, pies, and more! And of course, enjoy the hayride and corn maze.
The event runs two weekends in a row. I recommend that you plan to go the first weekend, so you can go to the Aaronsburg Dutch Fall Festival the first weekend in October. Or, pair the two events for an all-day Fall outing. 🙂
Friday – Sunday, September 27 – 29th 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Friday – Sunday, October 4-6th 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Directions: At the Old Fort Intersection of Routes 144 and 45, take Route 144 South 1.8 miles. Turn right onto Airport Road. Drive 6/10 of a mile. The farm is located on the right. Look for the orange pumpkin signs.
Enjoy your home,
