Tree-Watering Tip

DSC_0072Last year, after doing some research about more expensive options, Ryan came up with this great way to water trees. He drilled 9 holes in the bottoms of 5-gallon buckets.

DSC_0074Then, we set them by the base of the tree, fill ’em up with water from the hose and let the water trickle out over a span of about 5 minutes.

There you have it! The summer’s cheap and easy way of keeping your saplings happy.

 Enjoy your home,

Ideally, once a week w/ the 5 gallon bucket. (We also alternate the side of the tree where we place the bucket, from week to week.) Happy watering! 🙂

  2. Allison says:

How many times a week do you water the tree using the bucket method?

I am hoping to get a tree or two for Mother’s Day, and this is a fantastic and easy way to water!
