A Growing Weekend

Saturday’s big question: What do you want to grow??

If it’s chickens, head over to E & L Supplies on Route 45 for their Chick Days! The learning begins at 12:30. They say, “Get your chicks off to the right start… This is an event you won’t want to miss if you are planning on getting chicks this year. Whether it’s your first time raising chicks or your 10th time getting new chicks, there is always something to learn! We will have chicks the day of the event for you to purchase along with all the supplies you will need to take your new chicks home with you from feeders, waterers, heat lamps, bedding and feed.”

If it’s flowers, head over to The Old Gregg School Community and Rec Center from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon. (We’re hoping to take our budding gardeners to this event.) You can snag some goodies from the Old Gregg School Farmer’s Market while you’re there! They say, “A Flower Planting Activity for Kids is planned for this Saturday, April 13, 2013 during the Old Gregg School Farmers Market. Help plant flowers in front of our community center. Children MUST be accompanied by an adult and will be given a flower to take home. The activity is sponsored by the Old Gregg School Farmers Market and the Penns Valley Learning Garden.

Of course, check out the Community Calendar for the weekend’s events and add events that I missed!

 Enjoy your home,
